I want to buy an 18 foot center console boat with an outboard motor.
I'm sure it must weigh more than 2,000 pounds with the trailer, and my Plymouth Mini Van with a six cylinder is rated for 2,000 pounds. Will the van pull the boat and trailer out of the water? I only have to travel one block as the boat ramp is one block from my house. I figure it will not hurt the engine as it is only five hundred feet back to the house. I do not plan to tow the boat further than just that. Do you think the van can handle it on such a short distance? Will it have the traction to pull the boat out of the ramp?
