I'm trying to put a video i made on iMovie onto a dvd for a school project. It's not working! Since I don't have a blank dvd, I found a (rewriteable) used one and put that in my computer to erase it. But it won't erase, so I can't put my new movie on it. What should I do?

Also, if you can think of any other way I could possibly get this movie to school that would be great. It's too big to send through email and too big to put on youtube.
It's doing the same thing--it's not letting me use that disk and I have no idea why.

Do you have iDVD? This is what you use to burn DVD's.
All completed and exported iMovie projects will be available in iDVD.
These are the instruction for iMovie 08 but other versions are similar:
First you need to have a completed and exported file in iMovie.
In iMovie click File>New Project.
Fill in the relevant details and click Create.
Now edit you movie by dragging the clips from the new events in the lower screen to your new project in the top screen.
When you are done click Share > Export Movie.
That takes a little time while depending on the length of your movie.
You will see a highlighted little box to the right of your project name to indicate that the file has been exported.
Then close iMovie and open iDVD.
Try magic iDVD. You will be able to see all your exported iMovie projects there. Pick the one you want, drag it over then choose a theme and preview.
The burn button is in the lower right hand corner.
