Quality of a Kia car?

So what is the TRUE quality of a Kia car?

Good?
Bad?
Good for it's price?

I ask because I am looking for a car. I hate Kia. I look at them like a really cheap store brand that breaks in 2 days.
But my mom and sister (who buy a car based on color and nothing else *puke*) said "It's buy 1 get 1 for $1! It HAS to be a good car!" *rolls eyes*

I'm interested in Toyota. I just want to know the truth about Kia out of curiosity.

Reliability is average for all cars except the Kia Rio, which is a bad car.
Quality is average as well.
After a couple of years, you will notice that the materials used in the interior get scratched easily or wear quickly from sun damage.

They are good for the price.
