question about bitTorrent (i think)?

I actually don't think it is an issue with bitTorrent, but I downloaded a .torrent and it somehow made 2 files, one the regular one that I can then download using bitTorrent and another one with the same name but with no information in it (size 0 bytes) The problem is I can't get rid of this second file. I save these things to my desktop, so it's just sitting there on my desktop and when i try to delete it it says, "Cannot delete file: cannot read from the source file or disk." Whats even more odd is if I download the .torrent again it puts the information in the file I couldn't delete before (and then I can delete it) and makes a third file, which I then can not delete. I have run cCleaner, and Avast antivirus, and tried every other method I know of to delete it, or even at least move it off my desktop (I get the same message if I try to move it as I do if I try to delete it.) At one point i tried downloading the file twice in a row without deleting the one I could so right now I have two of this same file sitting on my desktop. Please tell me how to get rid of this!
