Question about BitTorrent...?

Hey. Yesterday I started downloading the first 4 seasons of one of my favorite shows. It's around 12.5 GB. So far, it's taken 1 day and 1 hour to reach 19.5% complete, and I have a fast system with high speed internet.

Anyways, I went to the destination folder, and it's already reached 12.5 GB, yet BitTorrent is telling me that it's only 19.5% complete. In other words, it's finished, but BitTorrent says otherwise. Am I missing something here? I'm afraid to cancel it because I don't want to wait another week.

Can anyone help?

BitTorrent, by default, uses an option that autoallocates files in your harddrive, so that later on, you don't get stuck with a "no more diskspace" problem while it's downloading. So pretty much the file is right there, with 12.5gb of 0's only. It's pretty much filled with emptyness, just to allocate the space in advance.

Now, for the speed, your computer performence doesn't change anything, and you aren't limited by your internet connection, I beleive you are limited by the seeds.

The people uploading to you don't have such an amazing speed, but that's usually what happens with public torrents. Just wait and finish downloading and it will work.

in the destination folder, it said its 12.5 gigs because that is the final size it is going to be. (the computer has allocated 12.5 gigs of hard disk space for the folder).

If the bittorrent client says its done 20%, its only done 20%.

To increase your download speed, make sure to use good settings http://torrentfreak.com/calculate-your-optimal-bittorrent-settings/

Also µTorrent (pronounced 'micro-torrent') is the fastest bittorrent client.
