question about iPhone jailbreaking.?

I would like to jailbreak my iPhone 4 running on iOS 4.0.1 firmware, but I would like to ask 2 questions.

1) If i jailbreak, will it effect my current downloaded apps (from AppStore?)
2) If i want to revert my jailbreak by updating the firmware, what will happen to the apps i downloaded by cydia? Deleted or left behind?
