Question About LG Banter?

Ok, I have an LG Banter with Altell, and its awesome, the only thing is that I am not allowed to buy ringtones, and then I was looking online for ways to get them for free, and one of the ways and my only way at the moment is through SD card, I have an Micro SD and a Micro SD adapter that I tried to use to add a ringtone, I got it over to my phone but in my phone, it appears in the audios part of it, and it won't let me set it as a ringtone, I have the same song, on my phone with different times in MP3 format, 15 second and 17 second, I looked at other ringtones and they are all around that time, please help me get this to work so that I can get ringtones. :(

I had the same problem with my razr when i first got it..i had to download a program to delete something that will let you download almost anything..the program is P2K..if u find a good place to download it, it will tell you wat to delete..i have been told that the newer LG and Motorola phones have that program in it to stop you from downloading pretty much anything..my gfs mom had that phone a few months ago and myxer.com worked for her..im sorry if this didn't help..i wish you the best of luck with it..you could also try zedge.com that used to work really good when i was with at&t and on one of my phones after i switched to alltel
