Question about rogers/fido locked iphone 4?

I am using fido service in toronto and I am looking to buy an Iphone 4. I have been told that even if I buy a rogers locked phone, I can still use it with fido as long as i use a micro sim card and not a regular sim card. according to the person who said that, "a locked Iphone 4 from either Rogers or FIDO can be used with either providers if you use micro sim cards" They are only locked to their respective providers if I use normal sim cards.

This is a bit confusing and I want to make sure before I go buy the Iphone.
 
I don't think you can use iPhone 4 locked with rogers with fido and vice-versa. First, you can try to use fido sim card in rogers iPhone 4 . If it not accept it , you can found that your iPhone 4 not accepting other sim cards even the companies are owned by two carriers . If you want to use other gsm sim cards like fido, you need to unlock your iPhone 4 . Use Remote unlocking method to unlcok it . You can get it from nay of the online vendors like OnlineGSMUnlock.com to unlcok it .
