Question about the LG Vu?

So I just got the LG Vu, and went on the internet right away. Then I realized that it probably cost money, so I exited the browser. However, there is now this globe icon in the top left corner (next to the service bars) that wasn't there before. Does this mean I'm still on the internet, and still being charged for it? How do I know I fully exited the internet browser?
