I live in New Brunswick, and I have to go to NYC for a job interview this weekend. In particular, I have to go to Columbia University. It takes place at 11:00 am. I am not familiar at all with the trains or the subways etc., so what train should I take to make sure I get there on time?

Once I arrive in Penn Station, what would be the best bet to get to Columbia U? Is it close enough to walk or should I use a cab?

Take the Northeast Corridor NJ Transit train to Penn Station (see schedules at njtransit.com), then ride the subway on the 1 train from Penn Station uptown to either the 110th St or 116th St - Columbia University stops, depending on which is closer. Good luck!
