question for 2006 polaris sportsman 500 fuel injected model owner?

my question is for a owner of a 2006 polaris sportsman 500 fuel injected model owner.if you were to take off the intake boot off and proceed to ride the atv would it cause the engine to run at wide open speed? i am not asking for someone to do this i am only asking if someone has had prior experience with this model (injury related) thanks
