I'm thinking about getting a hamster even though I have 2 cats. They stay outside most of the time and never come in my room. I had a few questions about hamsters though.
1. What different types of hamsters are there?
2. Do hamsters like to bite people?
3. If hamsters do bite then is there any way to make them stop biting?
4. What is the littlest type of hamster?
5. How can you tell if they're male or female? (I want a female one)
6. How many babies can hamsters have?
7. How many colors can hamsters be? ( I want one that's kind of calico)
Any other info you have for me please list since it will probably help!
I'm pretty sure there are calico hamsters because I've seen a few a the pet store. I meant to ask if they're harder to find than the other types of hamsters or not. I had 3 hamsters before when I was little but my mother took care of them while I just played with them because I was too young to understand anything. I do keep my door closed a lot and the cats about 90% of the day are outside. If I do get a hamster then I'm keeping it in a place that is almost impossible for my cats to reach. High up on my shelf. I've watched them try to get up there before but they're actually too fat to jump up there. I'm not so worried about my older cat because I've watched as a mouse crossed his path and he just stayed there laying down. he only cat that bothers me is my bro's cat Mischief. He gets into everything but I don't let him in my room still.
