...Judaism comes from Jacob? Jacob had a brother named Esau and Esau had descendants called Edomites. The Greeks called them Idumeans and they played a major role in the first century establishing of Jerusalem. During the days of King David he forced the Edomites to convert to Judaism. In 1st Kings David annexed the Edomites.
In 37 BC Herod the Great was a Edomite appointed King by the Greek general Antipater. Herod the Great and his son Atipater II married women who were of Judean heirtage.
Since the Edomites and Jews married one another and had offspring. How is it possible for anyone to claim they come from Jacob and not Esau? Rabbinical Jews seem to be sure they are sons of Jacob and none other. But is this sort of thinking possible considering history?
