Rat Problem?

I have a rat problem in my house for maybe a week or two. I looked at possible areas of mice hideouts and I couldn't find any holes. Is there a way to find the holes easier so I can block the entrance?

Well dont escavate the house, you should get a cat, or drop rat poison down

They can get in through openings as small as half an inch. Call an exterminator.
