avatar: 8/10 - ying yang is cool. But im tired of martial arts basing their stuff on it! coz it doesnt work! ying yang are opposites but one cannot be without the other, as one causes the other, and so on. So then it's logical to say that you can counteract one's yang with your ying. basically if some attacks you hard, you must use the opposite to beat them i.e. as Aikido does. So does this mean if someone's being soft you must use hard to beat them? coz that's what it implies - but nooooooooo - all of a sudden it cant work both ways. what happened to inseperable opposites???? Arghhhhhh!

sig: 2/10 - lame. the bodies not a vessel or a tool. it's a hunk of weak flesh that ages and detirorates till it kills you.

Slightly OT but just to clear it up for you

Yin/Yang is, as you said, the unity of opposites. One cannot exist without the other, one is born of the other.
The reason that (in theory) if someone attacks you hard, you use soft to defeat them is because the "soft" energy used, IE, Yin, is unending and constant. Using hard against soft will not work, because "hard" (Yang) energy is Finite. It runs out. So Yang runs out while Yin is ever lasting. Thats the theory of it.

Don't dismiss a theory out of hand, just because you dont fully understand it.

Now, back on topic

Avatar- 8/10. Nice image

Sig - 9/10 soooo true

Ava: 4/10 Kinda freaks me out its eyes seem too big or something but well done with the edits.
Sig: 3/10 Seems like the standard 'foolish Christians' comment. Gets a three for being seasonal.

P.S.TeJitsuDo where did you come up with that understanding of Yin/Yang from? If Yin was conceived of as unending and constant and Yang as finite then Yin doesn't need Yang (Yang would disappear but Yin would stay). Seems neb made a good point about people having an unbalanced preference.

Yang is bread of Yin. "Unending" can only be defined if you have something that is "Finite". The Finite is born of the infinite. And for the other to make sense, each requires the others presence.
