Ray Rice has a new contract and is one of the most important running backs in the NFL. The Baltimore Ravens will need a big season out of him if they are going to make a run at the Super Bowl. However, is Ray Rice a great fantasy football option? Let’s take a look.
In 2010, Ray Rice had a disappointing year. Last season, Ray Rice bounced back in a big way. He had as many rushing touchdowns last season (12) as he had in his first three seasons in the NFL. He also saw his yards per carry climb from 4.0 to 4.7.
What makes Ray Rice even more valuable is his ability to catch passes. Last season, he had 7 catches for 704 yards and three touchdowns. The cherry on the top of the cake is Ray Rice’s ability to stay healthy; he hasn’t missed a game in three seasons.
All in all, I have Ray Rice as the top fantasy football running back in my book. Expect him to rush for 1,300 yards and ten touchdowns, while adding 700 yards and a pair of touchdowns as a receiver.
