They are for avid wine drinkers, so no cheap suggestions please. Thank you for your help, I hate wine.

You don't need to spend $50 to get a good wine. Check out wine speculator.com they have some great recommendations for lower than $50. Wines from Chile are fantastic and way under priced. Good Luck

To save you time, just go to your local liquor place and ask the dealer, he will advise you and sometimes price plays little in good tasting wine. I would make suggestions but you may not be able to fine them where you are.

Le Piat D'or is my favourite. Whether red or white, it's really smooth and reasonably-priced.

find out which specific wines your friends like, then take that information to a good liquor store, and ask for recommendations. there are literally hundreds of great wines in that price range, it is hard to answer your question without knowing the preferences of those avid wine drinkers. jordan, far niente, cakebread, chateau montalena all make good cabernets & chardonnays. etude pinot noir is excellent, if you prefer lighter red wines, pio cesare barolo is a very full bodied red wine. i usually pick wines i know my friends will enjoy, as i am familiar with their tastes in wine.

Greg Norman (the golfer) has a Shiraz that is amazing. It's about 20 a bottle.

Bogle Cabernet is AMAZING and it's also about 20

Estancia is about 20 and it's my favorite of them all.

All reds.

With Chardonnay, I like a local wine from VA but look for something oaky. I do not recommend Bogle's chardonnay, it's not very good.

White wine...look for a pino...all of them are pretty crisp and clean.

Where do you live? Check a local winery if looking for a gift.
