Remember the pirates trend, before the vampire craze? Which did you prefer?

It's like vampires are the new pirates - before EVERYONE I knew was totally obsessed with pirates, Pirates of the Carribean, Jack Sparrow... and now it's vampires, Twilight, and Edward Cullen.

Personally I prefer pirates, all the way :) I don't get the vampire thing. I've read the Twilight books and seen the movies, but I don't get why people are obsessed with them. Pirates, on the other hand, are just awesome.

Do you like pirates or vampires better? + or just your opinions on either...
 
Twilight is a terrible movie. It's not good in any way. I don't get how anyone could even attempt to like it.

Pirates definitely.

Pirates of the Caribbean were awesome movies (not to mention pirates were real...vampires, not so much (at least not the way they're portrayed in the movies)).
 
I also like the pirates, but if the movie producers ever come up with a vampire pirate, they will have a winner at the box office. LOL
 
As a teenager it was the vampire thing. I was into Christopher Lee and the Hammer movies of the 60's & 70's.
Now I would prefer pirates, but still like Chris lee.
I think young teens are attracted to the vampire stories as they involve strong love themes, which teens are interested in, where pirates are get up to all sorts of things & don't get a lot of romance.
 
Pirates are much more fun plus they exist so it's an attainable goal.
 
i prefer the rugged hotness of sparrow to the cold brooding cullen. of course, thats cos of the actors -generally i prefer vampires since i reason they do not chose the path of darkness while pirates chose sin.
