Removing a Alternator and Serpentine belt from a 94 Dodge Ram 5.9?

I have a 94 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 and I need to take off the alternator, a mobile mechanic told me that I needed a special tool to remove the serpentine belt. I was trying to find out what tool that would be.
