Replacing tank for a bigger tank but I don't have room for both. Where do I put the

fish in the smaller tank? I'm putting everything in my old tank to my new tank so it will be like the new tank is cycled but now I don't have a place to put my fish because I want to wait at least 24 Hours to put the fish in my new tank. Can I put them in my 5 gallon then put them into the new tank the next day or will that be too stressful?

It depends how big they are because if they are big fish and there are a lot of them it will be stressful.
