Rescue Survey : Why do the airplanes provide life buoys to their passengers...

Well, honestly they should provide both in case of emergency evacuations although I think they do, now. (Don't hold me to that because I'm not really sure).

How ever, even a Buoy really doesn't make sense because usually at the point of impact in the Ocean the Airplane is destroyed by the pure force of the impact which kills most if not all of the crew and passengers instantly.

So..

Really, if you think about it, with all of the pushing and shoving while the panic-ridden attempts to evacuate, both ways are sort of rendered useless.

Good question, probably cause the flotation devices are cheaper and easier to maintain. The crashes where the parachutes could have been used, everyone probably died so they don't see the need. Plus could you imagine trying to get all those people out the door while the plane is going down. People would probably be trampled to death while people are in a panic to get out the door.

im thinkin cuz u dont fall out of the plane when its crashing down to the ground that fast and its not even broken apart yet. when it lands then it splits open and ur free to exit. at that point a parachute wouldnt be very helpful.

The boat can be used to float down on, like an umbrella. Haven't you seen Mary Poppins? Do your Maths!

How does a parachute help you in the middle of the ocean (if you crash there)

You could land in the middle of the ocean or body of water and a parachute won't save you.
