...to long-term company interes? When company looks for new employees, they usually do the "final hiring decision", and if the company finds out that the candidates shop around (which practically always happened) AND if the candidates makes/decides to respond "maximum at the end of month i'll decide and inform you if i want to join with your company", it is considered unacceptable (the company react negatively with this behavior, they want to control all of hiring aspects).
As related to this, the company usually behave to inform "you will get confirmation if you gets hired or not at this date, and you have 3 days to respond from that date or unable to join"
Company always do the tender, screening candidates, and select the best,
But when candidates ask for the same rules/behavior ("dear companies, i would like to pool my options and decide which company i will join, and of course if that company also agree", of course candidates don't have to say this), lots of company don't like this behavior, which i believe its stupid, narrowed business knowledge, no broader/longer-term consideration.
my argument are the relationship is vertical, its an agreement, teamwork, trust, so it must be a WIN-WIN situation, and fair treatment to both side.
If WIN-LOSE exist there is probability at least in longer/broader term, someones will get hurt. (my opinion, in real world they both WILL get hurt)
My question:
1. i would like to see secondary data (research survey), about this issue, where can i look for ?
2. what are good internet sources of secondary data research ? (commercial is everywhere, so i like to know the free one)
I would preferably to get answer from HR professionals, if you don't understand the issue and the question(s), or posting a mediocre answer, please don't.
Thank you very much.
