I advertised for sale a boat on ebay and got a few bids but no one met the minimum price. Then I was contacted about selling the boat from someone in Canada. The boat is in Florida. This person made contact with me during the ebay listing and we talked back and forth. The listing stated clearly that the boat is sold as is and that you have the right to inspect before buying. Also, it stated a $2000 unrefundable deposit is required within 72 hrs and balance within 10 days. This buyer purchased the boat on an aggreed price without seeing it and gave me a $3500 deposit through PayPal. Then one week later he flew down to Florida from Canada to see and decided it was not the boat he wanted. He is demanding his deposit. I had two others that were interested in the boat and since one as purchased another. I live in Georgia and the boat is in north Florida. It has cost me a lot of problems as I explain a financial stituation I had and must sell the boat quick. He had the opportunity to view the boat first but decided no to and made a deposit. I even wrote up a bill of sale and emailed it to him and he said it was OK. I went down to Florida and made all the arrangements for him to get the boat. Was not there when he came down from Florida. He did not call me or anything until 5 days later and after he got back to Canada. Then I got an email stated he did not want the boat and I needed to return deposit. What should I do?
