Reuse windows 7 product key?

i have a new laptop on windows with genuinw windows 7. i want to reinstall thw whole OS but i only have reocvery disk not the Os disk and i want clean windows environment to work with. I was thinking of download a copy of windows 7 via torrent and then using my key to activate it but i need advise ???

Any ideas>:
