filibusters, why do they complain so much ? about filibusters? Is what they try to pas so bad that they can't even get one person to side with them from the other side of the isle in the Senate? It is time to be honest and stop complaining about filibusters which do not happen in the House of Representatives.

Because Republicans have set records for filibustering. They do it every time they are the minority.

The Republicans set up a unified front to prevent Democrats from passing significant legislation as a strategy to win back seats in the upcoming mid-term. So it is not surprising that none of them would break ranks. The inexplicable thing to my mind is that the Democrats didn't force them to filibuster anything. If the Republicans are going to jump into an obstructionist role, make them play it so everyone can see. They would likely even have to give it up after a while. It's like the Democrats had no will to fight whatsoever. The mere suggestion of a filibuster was enough to cause legislative re-writes or abandonment. That's fairly pathetic. Since when does it take 60 senators to pass a law? It also makes me think that a fair number of Democrats were relieved that they didn't have to deliver what they promised to deliver. Which feeds into the whole notion that Democrats and Republicans stir up hot button issues to get votes, but don't have any intention of actually following through. You could have a Republican supermajority in every section of government and abortion is still going to be legal. You could have Democrats in the same position and you still won't get free universal health care.

We complain about the whining and moaning conservatives do about every, single move we make.
Stop your whining, and we'll stop complaining. You guys had your chance for eight years, and you guys did a preeeeetty horrible job, considering the aftermath Bush left. So let us have a chance to make it right.

...That's just my opinion.

The party of no wouldn't cast a vote the democrats way even if Jesus told them to.

Whaddya think . . . will they win that seat back in November because they're doing such a great job working tirelessly for the people they represent?

Firstly, it's not unique to Democrats. The GOP was making the same complaints about the Dems when they held all the chips of power. The real cause is the laziness of our political leaders. Most folks who go to Congress serve three terms or less. The thing is, that group of "most" represents about 65-or-so seats out of 535. All the rest are "serve" until you die politicians. Consider this...in 2006 and 2008 about 50 republican senators and representatives lost their seats. But it wasn't the strong conservatives who lost--it was the moderates. Moderate/liberal republicans lost to moderate/conservative democrats. In this cycle somewhere between 20 and 40 democrats will probably lose their seats, but it won't be the liberals. It will be the same ones who won in 2006. That most of them voted no on TARP and against healthcare reform won't matter. They will still lose. But the hardcore liberals will be perfectly safe, just like the hardcore GOPers are.

Those in "safe seats" are lazy! If the Senate leadership wanted they could pull the cots into the chamber everyday and make the opposition actually filibuster. I would love to see it. I'd love to see these chain-smoking, hard-drinking senators shaking from alcohol/nicotine/cocaine withdrawals passing out on the floor. Laugh my butt off, sure would.

Back in 1989, a couple reporters from ABC news surveyed the congress-critters at the time, asking them the number of hours they work in a day. The average response was 11 hours. Then they followed them around. The average workday for those folks was actually 6 hours. They were counting having lunch with their chums as work. When they go on corporate-sponsored week-long luxury cruises like the ones Speaker Pelosi and Minority Leader Boehner went on a couple months ago, they call it work. Like the corporate executives they joined together in bailing out, they see the labor and resources of this nation as their personal milking teat.

One day the control of our government will shift back to the GOP. Perhaps this year, perhaps not. And they will complain that the minority party won't let them pass anything. It's bull. They could hold filibusters every night, if they wanted to. But they won't Because in their world, you me, and all you see belong to them.

They got 57, they got 2 left leaning Independents. They got at least 5 RINO's. they got it all in the senate... Maybe the 0bama should consider the agenda so far into the loon farm that even his own party is rejecting it.

.

If 35+ democrats at times don't agree with their own party, where is that the cons fault? If you can't rub the feet of your own, you surely aren't going to see the toes of the other side. So the spin commences. "The party of NO". "Go back to the policies of the past". Yea right.......how about your left wing is so off the chart that a big chunk of your own is actually listening to the people in their districts while you keep ignoring the people in yours. So let's blame the cons. lmao.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 28 days to go!<<<<<<<<<<<
