Your stereo is a fake. Rockford does not make head units. Your car may have a Rockford speaker system and therefore they may have put the Rockford emblem on the stereo but the stereo itself is not made by Rockford. Replacing it with an ipod ready unit will give you much better quality and control for your ipod than using an FM modulated adapter.

my nissan has a Rockford-Fosgate stereo...
what is the quality of a Rockford-Fosgate?
and would you replace it with a pioneer for the ipod hookup or just buy a ipod transmitter thing that plays it on FM?
