Rogers Sim Card from LG Xenon to Iphone 3gs?

I want to switch my Rogers SIM card from my LG Xenon to an Iphone 3GS. I have heard this might not work but I tried it on my dads blackberry and it seemed to work fine. My plan is a shared plan with my dads company and I have 2500 texts a month and unlimited mobile internet. Let me know if anyone knows if the switch is going to work.

ya you are right if you unlock your iphone mobile means after that only you can use it with any network as you wish..........
