Rookie Tinkerer Seeks Advice for a New Project?

Well, all my life i have enjoyed building things, and i have recently began getting really serious about it. I have thinking about getting into mechanics (cars motorcycles etc.), yet i have little if any experience with the subject. Can anyone give me some project suggestions to get me started?
 
When I was at your stage, I had so many things I could see doing, now at age 58, I still have not gotten to all the things I planned when I was 16.

Until you start to see tons of things around you, you are not really ready.

But a good start is in doing your own car repairs and maybe taking a wrecked motorcycle and rebuilding it.
