Runners- Nutrition Help!?

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, i run 4 to 5 miles. This week for example it was 4.33,4.3, and 5. I have read in many articles and magazines that you need to eat 15 minutes after a workout is done. Now, I eat a bowl of oatmeal and a banana, sometimes with a slice of toast before i run. I am afraid to undo my efforts, but I usually eat a Clif Bar within the first 15 minutes, today I ate a Raw Revolution Bar, which to my surprise was higher in fat, lower in carbs and proteins, but made with all organics than a Clif Bar. Is the Clif Bar better? I usually eat about 1400-1600 calories a day, but i want to lose more weight. What should I do to alter my lifestyle/diet?
