Salt Water Taffy Vegan?

The lady at the shop on the beach my grandma went to claimed that it was, but by no fault of their own, many people living out of the main city here do not know what vegan is. Does anyone know if it is? Because it is sitting right next to me and looks very delicious but I don't want to touch it until I know
It didn't come with an ingredient list because on the Oregon coast there is lots of little family owned places that make it right there and you buy it in bulk. They claimed it was vegan but want to get all of your opinions

often times, no, it isn't. i bought some this weekend, only to find out it has milk powder in it. i've also read it often contains eggwhites.

ruined my life.
