So I bought a Samsung Freeform and it works great and all but the SD card wont save my ringtones into the ringtones area. It saves it into music player so i can't set it as my ringtone. The file format of the music is .mp3 and it is less than 30 seconds so i dont know what i am doing wrong. I don't want to send it as an attachment or get a website account for like ventones or myxer.com so if you could help me that would be great!!!
It's an alltel samsung freeform

The free form actually relies on both the file size and the song length. perhaps it is the file size that is the issue. First check to make sure it is in the "my_sounds" folder on your sd card. then you may need to try the MMS thing, i know you don't want to but you need to troubleshoot. Send it as an MMS to your own phone the save it to the ring tones folder. If it still doesn't show up then it is definitely the size or length. Download the free program audacity. (its a terrible recording Studio software but great for simple ring tone editing) for a ring tone the bit rate does not need to exceed 96kbps. First make absolutely sure that the file is UNDER 30 seconds long. then save it with audacity as an .mp3 compressed at 96kbps with the volume normalized to around -5Db. This in theory SHOULD yield you a usable file.
