I recently got the My Samsung Galaxy S from 3 in Hong Kong. While for the most part the phone is preforming very well and definitely recommended. The problem is that a random points the phone will freeze momentarily. During which the face buttons do not work, nor does the touch sensitive screen. The only thing responding is the lock/unlock button. These unresponsive moments are exactly that, short inconveniences that have no true overall effect. It is just highly annoying since it happens with some frequency. Some time when charging on power it auto shuts off even happened after a while connecting to USB for charging. Also have removed the battery to fully shut it down, and turn it on. Also the phone randomly instantly shuts off, and resumes normal start up. Help will be greatly appreciated.

Samsung Galaxy S Shuts down, crashes, goes coma!

Same problem here...
I’ve had my phone since Sept 18 and I do love it…when it’s not in a coma! I put the phone in its carry case and when I took it out it was “off”. Press the on/off button…nothing. Finally I figured out that if I held the ON button down for about 10 seconds the phone would “restart/reboot”. It does this constantly.
It never charges properly because it keeps going coma during the charge and nothing happens…it’s like it’s crashing. I loaded the latest firmware…still does it. I wiped the phone…still does it. Do a Google search for “Galaxy S shuts down!” or “Galaxy S turns off!” Tons of people are having this issue.
So, what’s wrong and when can we expect a patch or fix! I can’t have a phone that crashes on me because I am missing important calls, text and I can’t babysit it while it charges! Mine seems not to crash if I keep waking it up constantly, but, put it on the bedside table to charge…no way, it’ll never happen! Within 20 minutes it has crashed into a coma. The only common element in this mystery is it seems to happen when reception is low. I've read all the forums and basically it seems to be a software/firmware problem as it happens regardless of apps, gps, screen savers, etc.
My husband is taking it back to Best Buy today, but many people it seems are on their 2nd or 3rd phones and it’s still happening!
I’m wondering why this hasn’t gone public as it is a really serious flaw in the phone! Answers anyone? Help! Like I said, I love the phone but as it stands now I can’t keep it if it won’t stay on!

I figured out when this is hapeening to my phone. It happens only when my phone charges completely and has the message "Battery Full, unplug charger." If i get this message on my phone, then the phone will shut off twice after unplugging it from the charger. not sure why

i have this problem! it's constantly on and off. i can't even get as far as sending a text!

I had the same problem at the beginning of using Galaxy S..but yes it happens when the battery is full and I didn't unplug the charger. Now, it doesn't do that crap any more..the only thing it does is battery drain is a nightmare.

When Android OS (in your battery status) is above 20% it will drain the battery like 10hours for 100% fully charged battery.. I hate this 2.3.3 Gingerbread..can't wait the launch of latest firmware that fixes the power management problem..cheers all
