Samsung Rogue constant freezing while sliding open and during text messages?

My samsung rogue is only a couple weeks old and it constanty freezes and gets split screens. I had another one and this is my second. The old one had the same problem but it took longer for it to happen. I took it to Verizon and he said it wasn't a memory or software problem. I don't have alot of "junk" on it so I'm thinking that it might just be the phone? I happens about 5-6 times a day depending how many times i text. Sometimes I have to take out the battery but sometimes I can repeatedly hit the end button and it will unfreeze. Please help.
