look at an atheist in a science class: most of the time they will faithfully believe that anything the teacher says must be true but in the end they don't understand the reason. Theories like the big bang and thew composition of neutrons which are so widely accepted are theoretically possible but based on thin circumstantial evidence and defiantly should not be regarded as fact. Its like if you saw a nickle on the ground that had a bunch of holes drilled in it and you automatically assumed that the holes were accidentally made when someone tried to drill something else based on the grounds that even though that sounds pretty weird, you can't think of anything better (this can apply to anything about physics or theoretical chemistry) in the modern world, science has become a religion that condemns anyone who doesn't believe in it. just like almost every other religion.

the standard response to this would be to say that all science is based on fact. if you believe this , try to prove it .

Science is a method used to explain the natural phenomenon that occurs in the world around us. There are religious people who believe in science, and in some parts the Bible doesn't necessarily disagree with scientific facts that have been found to be true. However, being that science is more a matter of what CAN be seen and felt rather than faith in something that cannot be seen, it is no wonder that people may choose to believe in it.
