I want to download bittorrent just to get one program, then I want to completely get rid of it.
However, I heard that there is a thing called seeding, where you continue to upload the program after it's downloaded.
What I want to know is, can others access your computer information when you seed?
And how do you stop seeding from happening after you have "paid back"?

(legitimate) torrent clients only upload your IP (needed for others to connect to you - including those who will let you download your program) and the program itself, along with inconsequential data like hashes. Others can't see any of your files or computer information (but they know roughly where you are from your IP and that you're trying to download a certain file).

Be nice and seed at least what you've downloaded. Set your share ratio to 1.0 or 100% if you absolutely can't spare data. Once you've uploaded the same amount as you've downloaded you can just uninstall your torrent client.

However if you have a virus-ridden torrent client anything could happen. Use a virus scanner.
