I'm in the UK and relying on the good old NHS. I recently had a tooth problem (half of one molar basically crumbled away) which I had to take to an emergency dentist as I'm not registered anywhere yet. I had the option of having the tooth yanked, or having root surgery if I wanted to save the tooth - I went for the latter as it was an easier operation. The tooth is currently plugged up with dental cement, but I was told I needed to get the tooth "capped."
I've been trying for over two months now (well, actually on and off for over a year) to get registered with an NHS dentist but no-one is accepting any new patients. As this dental cement isn't going to last forever, and I don't want a reinfected tooth, I want to know if this procedure is somthing that I can do myself. What materials are required, etc.
