Before anyone freaks out, I've been to the ER, I've had bloodwork done, I'm in contact with my midwife, I'm going to a doctor's office on Wednesday...

What could this be? On Saturday night, seemingly unprecedented, I had severe (9 out of 10) sharp pain just below my sternum. I went to the ER, had bloodwork and an ultrasound done. Baby seems fine, gallbladder looks okay, bloodwork came back okay too. By the time I left, pain was down to a 1-2 out of 10, they couldn't tell what was wrong, so they sent me home.

Now it's Monday and the pain is still there and hasn't stopped since Saturday night when it started. It is less comfortable when I move and slightly more comfortable when I'm horizontal, facing down. It still doesn't go away though. When it first started, we called an ambulance. I threw up just after they got here and the pain went away for about 5 minutes, then it started creeping back up. I haven't thrown up or had diarrhea since. Yesterday, my stomach wouldn't let me eat anything solid so I had nothing but broth and applesauce until the evening, when I had saltine crackers.

What could this be? Anybody else have this? What did you do? Did it go away? Did they have to do something to fix it?

I keep thinking its my stomach because of the location and not being able to eat anything. Could it be muscles way up there? Could it still be my gallbladder? What else could it be?
