Sex w/ my socially awkward gf?

I'm a lesbian, & my my gf is very anxious in social settings. I go into gas stations for her, do all the shopping, ect. She pretty much avoids every social situation that she can. Just to stress the seriousness of the situation, she is scared to death to get a real job, so she babysits her nephew for a living. We've been together for around a year now, live together, & still haven't had sex. She always blames it on the social anxiety or that she doesn't think she will be "good at it". Is there any way I can get her to come out of her shell a little, or is this something I should leave alone?
