Shaw vs Telus for TV, phone & Internet?

We are currently with Shaw for all 3 services. High-speed Internet, home phone and HD Digital TV, for a total cost of $140 a month. We just got a call from Telus offering us the same package for $40 a month for the first 12 months and $80 a month thereafter, on a 3 year contract. Plus they are throwing in a free HDPVR.

My worry is being locked into a contract and the service sucking. Telus TV is relatively new to our area so I'm having a hard time getting reviews from anyone I know.

Thoughts?

amanda p > ask TELUS what kind of guarantee they will offer that the service will be acceptable to your household since they are 'new' to your area. Get something in writing so that your covered in case you have to cancel.
