There was a short story we read in high school. It was about people in a city, and there was only one beach left to go to, because the population was so high. So people would flock to the beach for vacation, but they had to go through a tunnel to get there. Some people were lucky to get through, but other times, it would close up and kill the people inside. I just remember there being a family, and them talking about how hot it was.
Does ANYONE know what this story was called, who wrote it, or what collection it was in?? It is driving me NUTS, and I would love to read it again.
