should celebrities be held to a higher standard?

Celebrities very much influence young kids and teens. A lot of the young population tend to look up to them. So when they repeatedly commit crimes, do drugs, drink and drive, hit and runs should they not be allowed into the spotlight anymore? Or be limited to how much so not to be a bad influence? Not to say that they shouldn't have a chance to redeem themselves because everyone makes mistakes but for the sake of the young people in our generation, should they be forced to clean up their act or not be allowed to be famous? Maybe probation or something from acting? The same way a school wouldn't allow a teen who was arrested for drinking and driving be a valedictorian?
