I am a 23 year old female. I am having pain in the right side of my pelvis. The pain is just above my pelvic bone right where my leg meets my pelvis.
I'm noticing that orgasm triggers it. It lasts for 12 hours to a day and then goes away. During that time it comes and goes. It is not severe, and it does not keep me from doing any activities. It's just uncomfortable.
This has been happening for four or five weeks now so I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with my cycle. I do have IBS and notice that I'm pretty gassy when I have this pain as well.
It's starting to scare me, and though I know I deserve the lecture I've never had a real pelvic examination. I have vaginismus and the first time I tried to have one the pain was so terrible the doctor told me to set up a second appointment so we could try again, terrified I never did.
My partner and I have sex frequently and I've been reading that the contraction of the uterus from orgasm could cause the pain, but I'm also afraid I might be accepting anything to ease my mind.
Should I be worried?
