Should I buy a used computer from a junk yard or a rebuilt one for me Jeep?

I need a new computer for my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. But my question is, should I buy a used one from a junk yard which would be cheaper, or a rebuilt one? What is the difference or pros and cons?

That might be true...but I don't have the means to rebuild my own. So I would be buying a rebuilt one from a parts place.

you could build your own but most places will only give you a limited warranty if you don't let them do the work which will drive up the cost.you can buy a used one because that is a part that doesn't goes out much.you shouldn't have a problem finding a good used one and you also can get a warranty on used parts.I would go used.

It has been my experience that, buying a rebuilt one is the best way to go, the parts store will be a little cheaper, not much but the guaranty is longer and you might get an upgrade to save gas. Ask them, or save gas call them first.
