Should I buy the IPhone 4 or the IPad?

I trying to deciDe to buy the iPad or the iPhone 4 whitch one should I get?

The iPhone 4 is sold out in stores, unless you order it. I'd go with the i{Phone, because it is more efficent and portable than the iPad. The ipad is useless if you have a laptop.

I would buy the iPhone 4. It's much smaller and includes the ability to call and text and browse the internet with 3g.
The iPad is too big for just carrying around and isn't big enough for just in home use. The iPhone 4 seems like a much more efficient buy.
