Should I Get A Nissan Maxima For My Next Car? What Year Is Best?

I'm thinking about getting a Nissan Maxima. What year do you think is best? I have been looking at the 2002-2003 models with the 3.5L V6. I want a manual. What year has the most mod parts for aftermarket customization? I was looking at the performance parts for the 2002-2003 and didn't find much at all.

Any Nissan owners or people that have worked with Nissan?
I want to make it unique and fast.
