...keep my Oldsmobile? Here's the case: Right now, I have a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra. It runs alright. Sometimes it stalls out but this is usually solved by me filling up the gas-tank and pretty much flooring it for a while. The car has about 60K miles on it at the moment. The paint isn't in great shape (peeling and a bit of rust). Also, the ceiling fabric is caving in big time, which I hate.

Here's what I can get: My cousin is giving me his 1992 Infiniti G20. It needs an alternator (but I've read that you can put an alternator in pretty easily). So I figure that'll run me about 150 if I put in the work myself. My concern, though, is that the car has something going on with the transmission. When the car transitions into second gear, it stutters and there's an audible thud. I don't know if this is something to really worry myself about or not. The G20 isn't in perfect shape. It's scratched up along the side from an accident, but overall it's a nicer looking car than the Oldsmobile. It has 114K miles on it.

What are your thoughts on my situation? Do you think I should get the Infiniti, put in the alternator and just hope that the Transmission doesn't fail? Or should I just stick with my Oldsmobile?

Thanks for all of the help!
