Should I greet him with a kiss on the lips or cheek?

So this guy and I are beginning to go out. When we are out at clubs or a party we always end up kissing. But when it's just the two of us we kiss on the cheek. Since the last time we went out for dinner we have become closer. When I see him next should I kiss him on the lips because I don't know where we stand in that way. And he's a nervous person himself so I have to make the moves sometimes
 
Kiss him on the lips in private in a relaxed environment if you are dating and feel ready.

Don't tell him you are going to do it, just face him, look into his eyes and then hiss him on the lips. Don't be offended if it takes him a few seconds to work out what you are doing and reciprocate.

I know I often do not want to feel like I am rushing or pressuring the girl so she ends up starting the kiss.
