I had an accident coming across lanes that had cars going in both directions. I looked both ways and there were no cars. I proceeded to go across one lane that was going east but when I went across the lane that was going west, an SUV rammed right into me. I did not know what happened. There was a weather advisory out because there was snow and ice on the ground. When the officer asked me what happened, I told him I did not know. I did not know if the car was coming straight or made a left at the light from the freeway coming on to my street. I did not know if I was going too slow because of the ice, all I know is I got hit. I tried to give the officer a theoretical answer of what I thought may have happened. My car veered to the left after I was hit. My car was left in to a big chunk of ice. I got the ticket, but the officer said if I did not think it was my fault talk to the judge. I would accept full responsibility, but my car was hit in the front on the right side and in the back on the right side, not the middle. His car was hit on the front driver side only. Before the officer came he moved his car. The officer kept asking me if I was trying to turn left ,but I was not, I was turning into an open area to go to a strip mall-straight across. Should I take pictures because every person that sees my car even though the insurance company did not come out after talking to the other driver says he hit me at a high rate of speed ? I have played out the accident several times and still can not see how he hit me on both ends of my car near my wheels and I ended going to the left because that would put my car almost all the way over the lane which could mean he should have yielded. Should I plead guily or what should I do?
