Should I purchase an 05 Mercedes C230 Sport Kompressor?

I am a first time car buyer and want an 05 Mercedes C230 (as stated above). I am a teacher and currently drive a ford taurus...talk about a step up!! I'm concerned about the fees and maintenance associated with a mercedes? I will not have a warranty if I purchase. Can anyone describe to me the maintenance process and what a car of this quality may cost me.
I'd also like to know opinions of performance and reliability from anyone who may own this car.
The car I am looking at has 55K miles. Is this risky?

you'll be in way over your head.

EVERYTHING costs more to do for that car for maintenance and repairs. are you ready to pay 600+ for a brake job? Etc etc, take what you would normally pay for anything on your car and double if not triple it... if you can swing that and still afford to eat, i guess go for it... IF it comes with a 2+ year warranty
