Should I put more boundaries on my PDA?

My boyfriend and I respect each other. However we want to show our affection (to some degree) in public. We were at a party and I was just casually sitting on the couch with my legs on top of his when a girl comes over and yells at us, saying that we were gross and that no one wants to see us in public. She then proceeded to drag my legs off of his, and storm out of the room. We felt pretty bad about it because we felt that we had not been doing anything wrong. The most we do is kiss in public (not making out, never making out) and hug and act like an old married couple. Occasionally we may share a long kiss, but never a full on make-out session. We have never done anything disrespectful to adults or that our mothers would disapprove of in public. So my question is...are those little times of affection (especially at parties when we are more comfortable with each other) wrong and should we tone it down?

I don't think you're showing too much PDA. i would be fine with what you have been doing. maybe that girl was jealous because she's lonely.
